Betty Jane Lind, age 86, of Woodland, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2010 at Thornapple Manor in Hastings following a brief illness. Betty was born at her childhood home in Freeport, MI on March 13, 1924 to Clarence and Flossie (Will) Sisson. She attended the Wood Country School and Hastings Public School. Betty was united in marriage to William Russell Lind on July 14, 1945. Betty was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Woodland. Betty's grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved spending time with them as she watched them grow. She loved teaching her grandchildren how to make pies, cook, and play board and card games. She was preceded in death by her loving husband; her parents; an infant son; her brothers; brothers-in-law; and sister-in-laws. Betty is survived by her son, David and Carolyn Lind; grandchildren, Christina (Joe) Leazier, Timothy (Kristi) Lind, Teresa (Jeff) Fernandez, Suzanne (Gary) Iler, JaNae (Bob) Cooper, and Tom (Shannon) Miller; great grandchildren, Riley, Clara, Jaden, Erika, Emily and Leia; sister-in-law, Darlene Sisson; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa from 6-8 PM on Saturday, June 19, and again from 6-8 PM on Sunday, June 20. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 21 at the Koops Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. The family has suggested that memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Woodland.
