Richard T. Majinska, age 69, of McMillan, MI, formerly of Lake Odessa, passed away in Phoenix, AZ on May 1, 2010. Richard was born in Lake Odessa on September 14, 1940 to Joseph and Maudline (Rathbun) Majinska. He graduated from Lake Odessa High School in 1958, and was named a High School All-American Athlete. Richard had been a pipe-fitter for over 50 years, working throughout Michigan and Ohio, and in Las Vegas, NV for 21 years. While living in Lake Odessa, Richard had served as a volunteer fireman with the Lake Odessa Fire Department. Richard was united in marriage to Elizabeth Biang on February 11, 1961. They had enjoyed 49 years of marriage together, and had spent the past 10 years living in McMillan and enjoying the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Richard is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; children, Therese (Robert) Walker, Michael Majinska, and Lynette (William) Samples; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Martha Sturm, Jane (Kenneth) Gasper, Joseph Anthony, Jr. (Debbie) Majinska, and George (Sue) Majinska; brother-in-law, Ron Bergeron; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jaime Majinksa; and sister, Mary Bergeron. The Rite of Committal will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, June 11, 2010 at Lakeside Cemetery in Lake Odessa where he was born and raised. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's favorite charity.
