Angels came and carried Karolyn Lee Stalter, of Clarksville, to the arms of her Lord on Tuesday, December 15, 2009, after a strong and noble battle with cancer. Karolyn was born on March 4, 1941 to Wayne and Mildred Shade. She was a graduate of Lake Odessa High School. Karolyn was united in marriage to Gerald Stalter on June 7, 1958. Together they raised three children, Jeff, Lori, and Colleen. Karolyn was employed with Hekman Cookie Co. for a short time, and watched children in her home for several years. She was a member of the Clarksville Bible Church, Redemption Riders Motorcycle Ministries, and the Lake Odessa Historical Society. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years, and organized the Lakewood Christmas Basket Project for 25 years. Karolyn and Jerry were chosen as the 2007 Grand Marshalls of the Clarksville Ox Roast. Karolyn immensely enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, camping, tending her flowers, and mushrooming. Through Karolyn's battle with cancer she had numerous opportunities to give her testimony of the Lord to others, which she thoroughly enjoyed doing. Missing her already is the love of her life for 51 years, Jerry; her son, Jeff (Sherie) Stalter, daughter, Lori (Stan) Mroczek, and daughter, Colleen (Greg) Hummel; along with 13 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren; and sisters and brothers, Letha Reese, Dean Shade, Marcelene Sisler, Sherrie Wacha, Gene Shade, and Linda Stidham. Karolyn was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Francis Shade; brothers, Brandon Shade and Marvin Shade; and half brother, Robert Hill. Visitation will be held at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa from 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17. A celebration of Karolyn's life and the committal service will be held at the Clarksville Bible Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 18. A luncheon will follow the service. Burial will be in Clarksville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clarksville Bible Church, or Heartlands Hospice.
